CINTERANDES Foreign Medical Student Program, was established more than 20 years ago, over 600 medical students from around the world have participated, and it has been an enriching educational experience for them. The students take part of our surgical missions in remote communities in Ecuador, as well as participate in clinical activities in and around Cuenca where CINTERANDES’ headquarters are located.

Due to COVID-19 the last couple of years have certainly been challenging with the interruption of our activities. Today, we are happy to communicate the official reopening of our program for foreign medical students starting in September 2023. We are certain that this experience provides students a unique learning opportunity as they are faced with the challenges of providing surgical and medical care in remote and austere environments, while being exposed to diverse cultural surroundings.
